REF Impact Review Reports
The Research Excellence Framework impact review reports are a review of REF 2014 statistics, and all available case studies in the REF 2014 exercise (6,637 case studies).
The review reports provide a valuable insight for senior management at an institutional level; for research directors at a unit of assessment level; and an enhanced understanding of the REF 2014 case studies at an individual level (for both experienced and new to REF staff).
Available by Unit of Assessment, and tailored for each institution, each report provides an overview of the quality ratings, outputs, staff submitted, topics researched, global impact, and sources used to corroborate the impact.

Providing Insights at all levels
Senior Management
The reports provide an overview of your institution's performance at Unit of Assessment level and a greater insight into the individual UoAs and variances between them including - sources used to corroborate impact, geographical spread, volume of outputs, QR quanta, case studies and FTE staff.

SRR/Research staff
The reports provide greater insight into the REF 2014 exercise specific to the Unit of Assessment. Each report includes a review of what areas are being researched in each Unit of Assessment and categorised into relevant sectors/areas.
The reports include a breakdown of the various sources of impact used to corroborate impact; what the impact areas were; the level of global impact for that UoA; and which countries /regions were more prominent in that UoA.

New staff to research/ECRs
For new to research staff/ECRs these review reports provide a greater insight into what types of research projects have been submitted to REF; the level of outputs in each unit; the range of sources that were considered for demonstrating impact in that unit; the range of research topics considered in the last REF; and the extent of global impact.
